Welcome to Open Sailing!

We were established in November 2005 and recently became OPEN SAILING INC. Built on the foundations laid by Sailing Sportboats the company strives to promote the sport of sailing. Our focus is on the sport boat - a progressive concept that aims to make sailing fun, easy, and fast - without compromising safety.

Our boat of choice is the Open 5.70. Originally designed by renowned sailing architect JEAN-MARIE FINOT in France back in 2004 the boat has grown in Europe to be one of the largest one-design sport boat classes. Offering a perfect blend of performance, excitement, simplicity and safety it appeals to a wide spectrum of sailors. Whether it is day-sailing or one-design racing, with either your friends or your family, the Open 5.70 guarantees a great sailing experience in almost any conditions. In mid-2008 Open Sailing acquired the rights to start building the Open 570 right here in Southern California. After working closely with the French builder the US boats being produced meet all the one-design specifications and high standards that existing owners have become accustomed to.

Open Sailing also prides itself on its support for the one-design Class Association and it's nationwide promotion of the Open 5.70. We offer the highest possible level of customer support and services to all Open 5.70 owners to ensure they can get the most out of their boat. These services include personal delivery, private tuition, online documentation, spare/replacements parts, and always a smile!

Open Sailing reaches beyond the Open 5.70. In terms of boats we also offer the Open 5.00 (a day sailor with a swing keel making it ideal for the younger sailor) and the Open 6.50 (a high performance day sailor that will satisfy even the most extreme adrenaline junkie). Open Sailing is also the US Distributor for Nauteek Tactical Electronics, a dealer for Tack Tick and we offer a wide range of Gil sailing gear.
